Atul Vahil, MD

Dr. Atul Vahil completed his residency in Internal Medicine in 1989 and his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Clinical Nutrition in 1992 at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center/New York Medical College. He loves Colorado, having been in practice here since January 2002.

Dr. Vahil has extensive experience in gastroenterology and hepatology, having authored several publications. Triple boarded, he has board certified in internal medicine in 1989 and his subspecialty of gastroenterology in 1991, 2001, and 2011. Dr. Vahil is also board certified in clinical nutrition.

His areas of interest include ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, and therapeutic endoscopy. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association, and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has been elected a fellow of the American College of Physicians and American College of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Vahil and his wife of twenty-nine years have two children. One son is currently serving in the United States Army, the other son attending college. Although he loves to visit the mountains and cheer on the Broncos, his main passion in life is patient care.

Brenda Carver-Torres - Nurse Practitioner

Brenda is a native of southern Colorado. She graduated nursing from the University of Southern Colorado in 1999. Following her graduation, she worked in same day surgery and endoscopy at a local hospital until 2007. Her master of science in nursing degree was completed in 2004, graduating from the University of Colorado.
Brenda joined Dr. Vahil in 2003, working both in the office and helping in the ambulatory endoscopy center. She is a member of the the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, the  American College of Nurse Practitioners, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, from whom she is certified.
